The Engineering/Detailing Department is comprised of highly skilled journeymen, each with many years of experience in the sheet metal industry. All projects undertaken by Harris & Hart, regardless of size, are thoroughly detailed using state of the art AUTOCAD 2016, NAVIS 2016, and AUTOCAD MEP software. All ductwork systems are completely coordinated with the architectural and structural components of the building. In addition, the engineer assigned to each project works closely with the trades on the project to ensure that the ductwork system is integrated smoothly with the overall building trades.
The majority of our projects are completed using 3D-BIM coordination.
We believe that our extensive upfront engineering/detailing efforts enable us to provide our customers with a high quality ductwork system, installed in a timely manner, while minimizing or eliminating on-site delays or conflicts. This, in turn, benefits our fellow subcontractors, helping to make the project a successful one for all involved.
During the detailing process, the various duct systems are segregated and each and every component is given a unique piece number. This method of identification allows us to track each component throughout the fabrication and delivery process, improves quality control, and enables installation crews to quickly and easily locate the desired materials, thereby reducing installation time.
Once a project is complete, our highly detailed shop drawings provide the owner with a superior electronic “as-built” record of their HVAC system.
